ARMA Certificate in Research Management awarded to Robyn Collins
23 Jun 2016
Congratulations to Robyn Collins, the EHR research group coordinator in NCDE, who has recently passed and been awarded the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA) Certificate in Research Management. Robyn is the first LSHTM employee to complete this professional qualification that helps individuals to acquire the knowledge and skills to be successful research managers. The course involves 45 hours of formal learning with mandatory units such as ‘Developing and Implementing Policy and Strategy’, as well as over 130 hours of self-guided learning.
Robyn was supported throughout the course by a professional mentor and felt this was imperative for her to be able to complete the course objectives and enable her to understand the higher workings of the University and to access information. The certificate takes 18 months to complete and going through the whole process has had a positive impact.
ARMA is the professional association for research managers and administrators in the UK. To find out more information about the courses offered by ARMA, please click here.
