Anthony Matthews

After completing my undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the University of York, I pursued a masters in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge. My master’s thesis involved using primary care records from the UK to assess adverse drug reactions. This set me in good stead to use a wider range of electronic health records when moving to the EHR group at LSHTM in 2014.  I am now studying towards a PhD looking at the long term cardiovascular effects of breast cancer treatment, using data from both the UK and Denmark. I am also interested in drug prescribing trends in primary care and the adverse effects of drugs prescribed for the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
