Dorothea Nitsch

Dr. Dorothea Nitsch trained in medicine and continues her clinical work as a Honorary Consultant at the Royal Free Hospital. She currently runs a low clearance clinic at the St Pancras Hospital in north London. After finishing her MSc in Medical Statistics, she joined the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2003 and is currently the MSc Course Co-director of Epidemiology, and Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at LSHTM. She has multiple national and international research collaborations that mostly revolve around the epidemiology of kidney disease. Dorothea has long-standing links with the UK Renal Association Renal Registry and currently chairs its Research Methods Study Group, and is a member of the UK Renal Registry Dialysis Demography group. She is a member of the UK Renal Association Research committee and a member of the UK Renal Trials Network. She is leading the analytic centre for the National Chronic Kidney Disease Audit at LSHTM, and is member of the Audit Board.
