Jemma Walker

Statistician working in a joint post between LSHTM and Public Health England (PHE) on the HPRU immunisation grant. This grant is to analyse the safety and efficacy of vaccines in the UK. I have a background in statistical genetics and my PhD was in Bayesian methodology for genome wide association studies. I am currently working on a number of vaccine related projects with Sara Thomas (LSHTM) and Nick Andrews (PHE) using CPRD and HES data. These include analysis of the effectiveness of the rotavirus vaccine (introduced in the UK in July 2013), changing varicella consultation rates, and non-specific effects of BCG vaccine. I am the PhD statistical advisor for Anu Jain (social determinates of uptake of zoster vaccine) and Maria Peppa (electronic health records to investigate the safety of immunisation during pregnancy).
