Morten Schmidt is a MD and collaborator from Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark.
Morten’s research focus is cardiovascular epidemiology and he did his PhD on “Cardiovascular risks associated with non-aspirin NSAID use”. He is the former head of the Danish Society for Medical Student Research and currently a committee member the Danish Society for Pharmacoepidemiology and the Nordic PharmacoEpidemiological Network (NorPEN). Before joining LSHTM, Morten has studied as a research fellow at Boston University, the Ohio State University, and California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute. Here at LSHTM, Morten uses electronic health records to examine whether monitoring of kidney function in relation to initiation of antihypertensive drug therapy in the UK primary care meets the standards set by clinical guidelines and how initial decreases in kidney function are related to long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
